Below are our upcoming events at Dunham Farms. All events and meals are plus tax and gratuity, and require 48 hour advanced reservations. To make reservations, please call (912) 880-4500 or click the gold RESERVATIONS button above. SPACE IS LIMITED, so act fast!

DECEMBER

  • December 27-31: 17th ANNUAL HOLIDAY FOR HERMITS
    That magical time when we enjoy Georgia’s woods and waters to the fullest.  Days filled with special fun and discovery.

    • Wednesday, December 27th  
      • 3:20 – 5:20 p.m.   Arrive in time to enjoy this lovely sunset paddle. $45
        We welcome paddlers 12 years-old and up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.
      • 5:45 – 6:30 p.m.      Welcome reception at Palmyra Barn.
      • 6:30 p.m.                   Small plate dinner. $20 
    • Thursday, December 28th
      • 7:00 – 9:00 a.m.      It is worth getting up early to savor this special sunrise paddle.  $45.We welcome paddlers 12 years-old and up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.
      • 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.     Big truck hay ride to Melon Bluff’s National Register Ripley Farm where we raise our historic Seminole peas™. Then we’ll walk the West Road to Rice Lake where the hay truck awaits us for a ride home.  $10
      • 5:15 p.m.                    Guests’ reception where we’ll share wine and hors d’oeuvres on the dock while we await the glow of sunset.
      • 6:30 p.m.                   Tonight it’s a special farm-to-table dinner including original hoppin’ john.  $40
      • 7:30 p.m.                   The evening’s moonlight walk, an exceptional experience.
    • Friday, December 29th
      • 9:00 a.m.                   Breakfast
      • 10:00 a.m.                 Ride to Norman Hill and hike to Wild Horse Hammock. There are few places that you can walk the marsh and it makes this very special.  Lots of interesting folklore connected to this area as well.  Then return to the mainland for snacks before we walk Wild Horse Trail back to the plantation.
      • 1:30 p.m.                   Soup and really good sandwiches at The Barn.  $15. 
      • 5:00 p.m.                   Cocktail hour
      • 6:00 p.m.                   Dinner. $40
      • 7:00 p.m.                   Reading by moonlight with prizes.  Movie night TBA.
    • Saturday, December 30th
      • 6:30 – 7:00 a.m.      Continental breakfast
      • 7:00 – 9:00               Sunrise paddlewith cocoa and coffee afterward.  $45. We welcome paddlers 12 years-old and up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.
      • 10:00 – noon             Hayfield loop walk to Fish Hawk Nest.  How did it look in 1900? The land has been sinking and the tide has been rising.  What next?  The walk continues to Peacock Hammock for a picnic.  Hay ride home to Palmyra Barn.  $15.
      • 5:15 p.m.                    Wine at sunset on Springfield Plantation.
      • 6:00 p.m.                   Seafood sampler dinner of Dunham Farms’ specialties, plus sweet potato fries, salad and Southern dessert.  $45
    • Sunday, December 31st  
      • 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.      Farewell to 2017 kayak tour, a plantation survey--.  $45.  We welcome paddlers 12 years-old and up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.
      • 9:30  - 10:30 a.m.     Scrumptious Sunday brunch featuring guests’ favorites. $20
      • 10:30 –11:00 a.m. Trees are the answer – short survey of our trees showing that the best is yet to come.

BULLETINS

  • We have bar service at Palmyra Barn and Live Oak Hall. Hours are posted in those buildings.
  • WEEKEND GUESTS, weather permitting, may enjoy free wagon rides to some of our more distant beautiful vistas. It’s bumpy and it’s fun and we stop for the best views. See posted schedule at Palmyra Barn. We also give free guided walking tours daily and guests enjoy discounts on kayak excursions.
  • Guests staying over two or more nights will receive a 10% discount on room rates during their stay. Guests also may call on us to make dinner suggestions, arrange reservations, or even book an offshore boat trip to the islands.
  • Enjoy a meeting at Dunham Farms, a plantation tour, luncheon or tea with your club, or even small groups outings for 6 or more. We love providing special service and a different and interesting day for our guests. Just ask. We customize for your enjoyment.
